Try to learn the office etiquette. You may not understand everything on your first day but try to understand common behaviours and processes.
Don’t force relationships, true friendships take time and allow the bond to form naturally. If you do not know where thee essentials are or how to use them (printer, coffee machine, phone, toilet) ask politely for help.
You will be given a list of your responsibilities and the company rules written in your handbook, ensure you read and follow the rules so that you will not create a bad impression of yourself.
Show interest in everyone you meet and everything that you are shown, irrespective of the fact that you might have known them. Do not turn down hands of friendship offered in form of cup of coffee or lunch.
Be true to yourself, have a positive can-do attitude and don’t be a know-it-all.
